Southern Green Stink bugs have been sited! They have done serious damage to one gardener's fava beans, both the overwintered ones and spring sown. They love beans and suck on pods, distorting them and causing brown spots. While they are hard to spot and control, stomping works. They are serious pests of tomatoes in California. Please be observant and diligent.

Poison hemlock was spotted earlier this year in the garden by our P-Patch Coordinator, Tim Peterson. It is very poisonous and toxic to humans and animals. For more information, visit the US Department of Agriculture webpage.
